Introduction
The BMW F10 is a full-size luxury sedan produced from 2010 to 2017. It is the sixth generation of the BMW 5 Series, and was unveiled in 2009. The F10 was developed in Munich and is built in Dingolfing, Germany. It is the first 5 Series to be available in a hybrid version, the BMW ActiveHybrid 5. Learn more on Wikipedia.
Engine and Gearbox
The F10 is offered with a range of petrol and diesel engines. Petrol variants include the N54 3.0-litre twin-turbo inline-six, N55 3.0-litre single-turbo inline-six, N20 2.0-litre turbocharged inline-four, and N63 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8. Diesel variants include the N47 2.0-litre inline-four and N57 3.0-litre inline-six. All engines are mated to either a 6-speed manual or an 8-speed automatic transmission.
Design & Accessories
The F10 features a modern design with a long wheelbase, short overhangs, and a coupe-like profile. It has been praised for its driving dynamics and refinement. Standard features include LED headlights, a navigation system, and a iDrive infotainment system. Optional features include a panoramic sunroof, adaptive cruise control, and a rear-view camera.
Suspension
The F10 features a multi-link suspension system with double-pivot front suspension and a five-link rear suspension.
